Community-driven Communication
Community-driven communication is a participatory approach that empowers local communities to actively engage in and shape the communication strategies related to their context. Within the TRANS-LIGHTHOUSES project, it aims to:
- Foster Local Ownership: Encourage communities to take a leading role in communicating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and their benefits, ensuring messages resonate with local realities.
- Promote Inclusivity: Engage diverse voices, including youth, women, and vulnerable groups, to co-create narratives and amplify their perspectives in the broader discourse.
- Build Capacity: Equip communities with tools and skills (e.g., digital communication, storytelling) to effectively share their experiences, challenges, and successes.
- Enhance Engagement: Strengthen the connection between local communities and stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration through transparent and relatable communication.
TRANS-lighthouses Community
The TRANS-lighthouses COMMUNITY aims to demonstrate how nature-based solutions can improve the wellbeing and resilience of communities facing climate change.
Through this platform, users can explore our community, engage in dialogue, and monitor the progress of these solutions across various contexts and purposes.
Our website is dedicated to sharing updates and events from the local communities involved in the pilot cases. Led by the youth of each pilot location, using the educommunication methodology, the site provides accessible information for the entire community. Each pilot has its own dedicated section, where young participants create and share content in their native languages, offering insight into their local realities.
The platform serves as a central hub for Community-driven Communication, with a special focus on empowering young voices. The youth curate diverse content, including articles, interviews, and podcasts, in their own languages, showcasing their unique contexts. This approach not only educates but also enhances communication skills, fostering a more informed and engaged community.
Resources on Educommunication
Learning cases put the participants in the shoes of another practitioner with a dilemma to solve, and guides them to a possible solution that may also be applied in their own context.
The Labs helps us in creating relevant training material, using experiences and storytelling as a instrument to internalize new knowledge and skills.
